Where video fits

Your investment team has a view every month. Getting it on screen in time is the hard part.

The CIO's view is current for a few weeks. By the time the data is final, the script is agreed, the filming is done and compliance has read every line, much of that window has gone. When every update is planned from scratch, each one costs the same effort and the series stalls. Settle the format once, with a crew that knows how your sign-off runs, and each episode starts from a template rather than a blank page.

How we work

Selected films

Work we can show.

Financial Conduct Authority: one of a 2016 series of recruitment films on what it is like to work at the FCA.

CBRE: the supply chain partner conference, filmed for three consecutive years.

Much of our financial work, including the HSBC content, is confidential and is not shown here.

Where it usually gets stuck

What slows financial video down.

None of these are unusual, and all of them are workable if they are planned for at the start.

01

The data is final, and the window is short

A monthly update cannot be filmed until the numbers are in, and it has to clear compliance before it goes out. If the schedule leaves no room for review, the update arrives when the view is already old.

02

The person with the strongest view is not always the most comfortable on camera

Portfolio managers know their subject and can still stiffen when the camera rolls. A conversation with a host, short takes, and an autocue only for the lines compliance has approved word for word all help.

03

Every clip has to stand on its own

If a sixty-second cut for LinkedIn is a financial promotion, it has to comply on its own. The warning, the audience label and the context travel with it, so we plan them into each cut rather than adding them at the end.

How it works

A series with a fixed look, so each episode takes less work.

We agree the format once: the set or location, framing, graphics, where supers and risk warnings sit, caption style and the versions you need. Each month or quarter we film your CIO or fund managers and deliver the main update with short cuts by theme or asset class. Subtitled language versions follow from the approved English master.

The finished films and the footage are yours to use on your website, platforms, client events and internal channels, without additional usage fees.

Working with your compliance team

How we make sign-off easier.

Approving the content is your compliance team's job, and we do not claim otherwise. Our part is to hand them something that is quick to review.

01

The audience is agreed before the script

Professional or retail, UK only or wider distribution. It changes the supers, the warnings and whether a master can be re-cut for social, so we settle it first.

02

Warnings sit where they apply

Risk warnings and disclaimers stay on screen for the section they relate to, as FCA guidance on financial promotions in video describes, rather than only at the end. Every cut-down is built to make sense on its own.

03

Every version is numbered

Each cut goes to your reviewers as a numbered version, so every comment is tied to a specific cut, and the approved master is delivered with its captions and supers in place.

04

Confidential until you publish

We are glad to work to an NDA and keep drafts on private review links. Nothing appears in our portfolio without your permission.

Much of our financial work is confidential. What we can say: we produce recurring market and investment content and leadership training for HSBC through agency partners, and our clients include McKinsey & Company, the Financial Conduct Authority and CBRE.

What we make

What we make for financial services.

Market outlooks & house views

Quarterly or annual, the CIO or a strategist on camera, usually with a host, plus short cuts by asset class.

Monthly market & investment updates

A short, repeatable format, planned around your month-end and your review cycle.

Fund updates & meet the manager

Portfolio managers on positioning and outlook, with one series look across funds and regions.

Client events & conferences

Recorded talks and panels for on-demand viewing, and a highlight film while the day is still fresh.

Leadership programmes & recruitment

Senior-leader interviews and programme films for leadership development, and careers films that show what working at the firm is like.

Staff training & onboarding

Skills, product and onboarding films for staff, and mandatory subjects such as Conduct Rules and Consumer Duty, delivered as captioned video files for your LMS or e-learning team.

A simple way to start

Start with one episode.

The clearest way to find out is to make one. We agree the format with you, film a single update with your CIO or a fund manager, and take it through your normal sign-off. If it works, the next episode follows the same template. If an outlook is not the right place to start, a single training module or one client event works the same way. It starts with a short call, and a fixed written quote follows.

Common questions

Good to know.

Can you make our videos compliant?
Your compliance team remains responsible for approving the content. Our job is to make that review as straightforward as possible: we plan their review into the schedule, place warnings, audience labels and supers where they ask, and turn their notes round without fuss. We do not give regulatory advice.
Our fund managers are not comfortable on camera. Will that be a problem?
It is a common worry, and usually workable. We keep the crew small, work from questions or a conversation with a host where the format allows, and film enough that nobody needs a perfect take. For lines that must go out word for word as approved, such as fund names and figures, we use an autocue. We make our own teleprompter app, Miracue, so we know that part well. There is more on why people who speak well freeze on camera.
How quickly can a monthly update be turned round?
It depends mostly on two things outside the edit: when your data is final, and how long compliance needs. We agree the turnaround for each series before the first shoot, then plan every episode backwards from its publication date, so review time is in the schedule from the start.
Can you handle confidential or pre-release material?
Yes. We are glad to work to an NDA, keep drafts on private review links, and publish nothing of yours without permission. Much of the financial work we have done, including the HSBC content, is not on this site for that reason.
Do you produce subtitles and language versions?
Yes. We can caption every version, which matters because many people watch with the sound off and accessibility guidelines expect captions on recorded video. We regularly deliver subtitle files in English, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese, timed to the approved English master.
Will you get through our supplier onboarding?
We have been through McKinsey’s supplier registration and are glad to work to an NDA. We carry public liability insurance and are happy to share the certificate before work starts.
How much does it cost?
It depends on how often you film, how many people appear, the number of cut-downs and languages, and whether training needs scenario filming with actors. A pilot episode is priced on its own, so you can judge it before committing to a series. Every project gets a fixed written quote after a short discovery call.

Planning an outlook series, an event or a training programme?

A discovery call is a short conversation about what you need to publish and when. We will be honest about whether we are the right fit.
